Welcome to the Bluebell Woods page. It is known variously as Cuckoos Nook/The Dingle/Bluebell Woods/Birch Wood/Potters Woods – they are all bordered by Sutton Road, Longwood Road and Erdington Road. It is a serene and enchanting place! 🌳🌷

I’ve been running through them every week day since 2017 when the dogs on the Beacon beat me and I looked for an alternative route. I have known these woods and walked them now for over 60 years. I was exploring them and building dens in the early 1960’s. I am pleased to say that not much has changed.

Explore the beauty of vibrant bluebells carpeting the forest floor every spring. Enjoy the videos of graceful geese and scary dogs prowling along the winding paths. Watch as I run through t of nature’s playground. 🦢🐶🏃‍♂️

Come, wander, and enjoy 🌳🌼

This is Peak Bluebell Walsall Woods 2022 to the music of Vaughn Williams Fantasia on Greensleeves

This movie was shot on Friday the 16th of March 2018 – the ice and snow had gone to be replaced by mud. The slo mo sequences were shot using the Iphone 8+.

On my usual run, I came across a gaggle of geese – which was not usual.  Filmed 15th July 2018.

Dogs are still a problem even in the idyll that is Bluebell Woods.
